Flynn hatched with one wing full, the other one not. But he’s a daring sort, and he simply wandered into a human settlement, looked cute and friendly, and had the adoring locals make him a wing of metal and leather. It can hold him for glides and a few flaps on calm days, but Master Blaze is still prototyping new versions, hoping to achieve more.
Regardless, the prosthetic benefits Flynn far more than I had imagined. It gives him a boost in his hunting leaps, and handy a float when swimming, and it can be removed entirely if ever needed for a shelter or cover.
Lastly, the wing is seen as tremendously wonderful and cool by his classmates, who often want to doodle on it or write little messages. A wall of retired leather sheets is growing by Flynn’s nest, full of jokes and silly pictures and many merry memories.
