Waiting For Winter

I’ve been searching all morning for some Chellar Berries, but I can’t find any. It’s the right time of year, but maybe the birds have eaten them all…

But it’s okay, ‘cos I’ve had a great morning wandering and searching! It’s my first autumn, and the leaves smell great, and the nuts and cones are like treasures in the fallen leaves. And I love that little “pop” that mushrooms make when you pick them, it’s very satisfying. And I love hearing the geese flying overhead! They’re leaving the winter behind, apparently, and going somewhere warm.

Everyone says winter is hard, but I’m looking forward to it. A few people have knitted me some sweaters, and I can’t wait to wear them!
