Winter is a hard season for babies of all sorts, but some dragon eggs crack apart in the deepest cold of the year, pulling cosy hatchlings into a pale world of ice and hunger. Hatchlings this size need very little to survive and grow, so when the spring does come and the world awakens, the hatchlings are ready to hunt and forage.
It may seem sad, to see such tiny things in the snow, but they’ll be the ones rushing along with spring, warming with the sun. While everything else is blinking awake, they are sprinting through the dewy grass with bright eyes.
