You should join us, the water is great! And there ain’t too many jellyfish around here. But there’s a big pod of whales just in the bay, and they’re singing real loud! You might hear them if they come closer.

Everything feels lighter in the sea, all bouncy and fun and flowing. I feel like such a lump on land, with my scales dragging and my claws catching. I’m lucky my kid can come in the sea with me, though he hasn’t learned how to change yet. I think only grown-up selkies can do that. I’m real curious to know what he’ll look like! But we’ve got a few summers yet, I think, until we can really go diving and explore the bottom of the sea.
