When autumn arrives and the trees drop their leaves, it’s a good time to see fae. Often the tiny woodland sort hide in roots and up in canopies, but dare to venture deeper into towns and cities wrapped in copper leaves and dry grasses, so they can drop and hide at the first hint of danger.

They gather all sorts of things that would normally be unavailable to them: scraps of cloth and tiny buttons, string, thin slithers of soap, spices, sugar, all sorts. If you live in the countryside, leave out a little pile of such things overnight and you might be rewarded with a collection of autumn mushrooms or berries or any other wild treasures.
