The Red Guard of the Shattered Peaks are quiet, mysterious dragons. While travellers may pass through the mountains, they will be watched and directed. Some paths are protected vigilantly – is it because the roads are not safe, or because the dragons are hiding something? Even birds are driven away from the route, perhaps in case they’re familiars of mages and could spy on their behalf.
With old tales of voices and songs and music from the upper slopes, or of dancing lights or great flying objects overhead, the Shattered Peaks may well hide a great secret or two, but why the dragons protect it is a mystery. And with the creeping mists apparently in the dragons’ control, there is no chance for a sneak to creep by. For now, the mysteries must remain a mystery.
