We don’t have a lot of spare money and we won’t get to school for a few years yet, but one of the witches nearby lets us read some of her old school books. We’d heard a lot about magic studies and what it would entail to become a mage, but me-wow, this is a lot of stuff to take in.

How it’s changed through time, how it can change from person to person, knowing how dangerous it can be if misused, learning about familiars and spirits and and Nature… and everything is a trade. Your magic is only as strong as you are.

We’re lucky to have our friendly witch nearby because nobody in our family knew this stuff. We have books and books to go through and none of them have any spells or crafts in them. Maybe when we’re done with these we can learn a little something…
