Pell Cliffs

The cliff face of the Pell Uplands watches over the valley beyond, its rocky mask set in a look of comfort. This spirit is a kindly old thing, taking care of the growing town that has emerged at its foothills, protecting them from rockfalls.

Another unusual power of the cliff face spirit is to control the roots and branches of the trees. Whenever an undesirable creature attempts to move in to the pitted caves of the crumbling embankments, the trees will twist and stretch to block the cave and discourage the creature, again protecting the town and the surrounding woodland.

The spirit of Pell cliffs can speak, but rarely does so, for the great rumbling voice can shake away the loose stones and scare the animals from their homes. Instead it talks through familiars in a low, slow voice that no mage can hear.
