Herbie has never said a word, which is very unusual for a dragon pup. He softly hums a merry tune or he rumbles the occasional complaint, but he’s not once tried to speak. Most pups cannot be silenced for more than a few minutes before a string of chatter disrupts the peace.

Doctor and mages alike can find no root to his quietness. But for whatever reason, Little Herbie has nothing to say, and no desire to try. He’s quite content to follow his mage around the gardens, watching the insects and the birds and the changing flowerbeds.

Regardless, many visitors consider him the greatest wonder of the gardens, and he often steals the limelight from even the most exotic of blooms.
