Earthwyrms are the bane of gardeners and farmers everywhere. Looping through the earth in search of rabbits and moles, they can destroy a garden or crop in a few hours.

But they have brought an interesting question into the minds of both science and magic studiers alike – it is quite uncommon to see these wyrms on the surface, as they typically live deep in the rock and sand below the topsoil. So what, if anything, do they feed off down there?

Sometimes bones and skulls are found around wyrm holes. These former creatures do not resemble anything like the fauna found on the surface world, nor even any of the cave-creatures discovered by dwarves.

A world deeper than we know lies beneath our feet, but perhaps we shall never see it.
