Twinkle Twinkle

I found it. I don’t know what it is, but I’ll look after it now, keep it safe. Keep it here in my claws where no-one will find it. I wonder who owns it? Where it came from? How did they capture the very essence of nightly calm in a simple jar? And what do they plan to do with it?

Warmth flows from it, and ringing voices so distant I can barely hear, glistening lights, the shifting colours, the racing glimmers… I’ve never seen anything like it, and I doubt I will again.

It makes me sleepy just looking at it. The sort of deep, satisfying sleep that only comes from complete relaxation and safety. I haven’t felt this way since I left my mother’s nest.

Maybe I’ll close my eyes and let it take me into dreams…
