April Showers

The cold spring rains can drag down the world outside, and the mood of those cooped up in warm houses. Few see the rain spirit as it oozes serenely down the street, growing with each drop that hits it.

It looks sad, and maybe it is. That’s okay. It’s just stumbled awake from its winter sleep, trapped in ice and snow… gloom is to be expected. Maybe the weight of all that bright growth to come is too much for the little spirit, but when summer comes and the world bounces into life, the spirit will grow to its full splendour, too. You’ll probably see it all the time, soaring high and carefree in azure skies, so soft and effortless that its very nature is pure joy.

And after long days in the sun, the spirit will sink back to the golden autumn ground to sleep through the coming winter.
