North, far north, lies a cave with glittering sides and shimmering heights. Too deep and long for all but the wisest cavers, the lofty caverns and passages will consume a wandering traveller.
There are some that live in the caves, hiding in plain sight. Most are small; insects and bats, small reptiles, perhaps. But others are so big, they become the landscape, joining with the crystal walls. If you’re lucky and mind your step, one of these giants may greet you, if needed.
The age of dragon families is often uncountable. Did they shift in colour to match the gems millennia ago, or did the gems grow from them? Even the dragons have forgotten.
